We recommend a washing temperature of 30°C for regular, athletic, dressed, and kids socks. Washing takes its toll on socks, and it's probably the number one reason socks wear out. But with a few thoughtful steps, you can lessen its impact. For starters, do not dry clean. The chemicals are too harsh for such sensitive items. Then, separate your laundry and wash your socks with like-colored clothes. This will preserve the vibrancy of the colors. Then, wash them inside out. This reduces pilling and keeps lint from sticking to the outside of the socks. It also helps the washer get rid of sweat and skin on the inside of the socks.
Tumble dry low and lay socks flat to dry. Hanging them will ruin their elasticity. Especially do not wring out wet socks. We want to keep them looking like socks! And for some good news — do not iron your socks. There! We saved you some time!
We hate to have to remind you of this but keep your toenails trimmed. Sharp nails can wear holes in the toes of your socks. You should also keep your feet smooth. Rough, callused feet can cause friction in your socks, speeding up wear and tear.
Do not iron– it’s a waste of time and a fire hazard. Yarns used in socks are very delicate and can be highly flammable.
Treat your socks well, if you want them to last longer.
